Mount Beacon Insurance is a former Florida home insurance company that has been absorbed by Florida Specialty Insurance as of 2017.

About Mount Beacon Insurance

Mount Beacon Insurance opened its doors in 2014, joining several other Florida property insurance companies in a takeout of policies from state-sponsored Citizens Property Insurance Corp. The company focused mainly on mobile home insurance.

In March of 2017, it was announced that Mount Beacon was one of many Florida insurance companies that were facing mergers after a difficult 2016 storm season. Mount Beacon was acquired by Florida Specialty Insurance.

As of May of 2017, all of Mount Beacon’s policies were absorbed by Florida Specialty. The company is officially out of business and does not write new business, nor do they administer any previously written policies.

Previous Mount Beacon customers are now serviced by Florida Specialty Insurance, which took over 37,000 policies.

  1. This company is very unprofessional !!!! I was going to get a different flood insurance co. and the and my agent would not sign the paper work to let me change my insurance to another company .They were also very quick to send me a cancellation notice way before my home owners policy was due . I had told my agent that I was going to cancel my policy several months before when he would not sign off on my flood insurance. Their agents very crude !!!! My experience was with the BIGGART insurance agent. THIS IS ALL MY OP ION do not do business with this company They simply do not care

  2. Received our premium notice on 7/11/2016. The notice said our premium was DUE on 08/21?2016.
On 08/06/2016, we received a cancellation notice (our premium wasn’t even DUE FOR 15 days) . On August 8th we mailed our full premium amount to them. On August 15th I received a letter stating they had REINSTATED our insurance as of 12:01 A.M. on August 10th…..How the [Redacted] is something reinstated, that technically was not even suppose to expire? Their wording, not only could potentially effect our future credit reports. It could have an impact on getting insurance in the future. It makes me wonder what is happening to their other clients.

    • Yes that is true Candace ! As far as our due date on our policy deck page. yes…The actually due is the 5th of each month, except the renewal in January, which is due by the 24th ! That kicks out the notice and seems too piss customers off. You Think
Now they are terminating our polices and transferring them too Fl Specially ins co as of May 2017 ! U should have got a new deck page of coverage with the same annual premium. First street agency out of sunrise fl. Not bad premiums otherwise

  3. In was not renewed also. Now I don’t have any insurance and can’t get any. I had a 4 pt inspection and didn’t pass. They think you should modernize you older mobile home to today’s standards, If I had that kind of money, I would have bought a house. My home is in good shape, just not up to current regulations.
