Like many other homegrown insurance companies, Integrity was founded as a mutual insurer to cover farms. The company was created in 1933 in Appleton, Wisconsin. Over time the company expanded into Minnesota and Wisconsin, and moved into the personal lines market. Today they write the big three – auto, home, and life – as well as business insurance.
In 2001, Integrity completed an affiliation agreement with Columbus-based insurer Grange Insurance. This expanded their coverage further, to a total of 13 states across both companies. It also gave Integrity a stronger financial backing and more solid position in the industry.
Integrity writes insurance exclusively through independent agents, and although they don’t offer any online quoting, they do offer online account access for policyholders on the website. This allows customers to manage their policies and track claims.
Integrity offers auto, home, and life insurance as well as commercial coverage for small businesses.
Integrity has a strong auto insurance program with all of the basics as well as plenty of options that you don’t always see with smaller, regional insurance companies. Basics include liability, comprehensive, collision, rental reimbursement, and towing and labor coverage.
Options in addition to the common ones include:
- Pet medical
- Mobile device coverage
- Original Equipment Manufacturer parts
- Identity theft
- Loan/Lease Gap coverage
Integrity also offers coverage for boats, recreational vehicles, and motorcycles, although the website offers no details on these policies, mentioning them only as part of the auto insurance program description.
Integrity offers homeowner’s package policies that are designed to cover the house itself, personal property, and liability. Their policies also offer a variety of options that can be added on for additional protection. These include:
- Water and sewer back-up coverage
- Replacement cost coverage
- Extra coverage for jewelry, furs, and other valuables
- Identity theft
Integrity also has condo policies available to cover the specific needs of condo owners who share responsibility for the structure with a condo association. They also write renter’s insurance and provide coverage for personal property in an assisted living facility.
Integrity offers life insurance, but the website doesn’t indicate what type of policies they write or offer any details regarding their products. The life insurance page directs customers to contact an agent for more information.
Integrity offers business coverage for a variety of company types. Their coverage options include:
- Commercial property and auto
- Worker’s Compensation
- Employment practices liability
- Commercial Umbrella
- Employee life insurance
They also offer a commercial package policy that brings together several of the most common coverage options.
The website promises competitive prices, but also makes clear that the company aims to provide the right balance between price and the best products and services.
Small regional insurers rarely compete with the big direct-buy insurance companies when it comes to rates. Policies sold by agents generally include commissions, which can drive rates up. Smaller companies also lack the financial backing to provide the lowest rates, although Integrity’s affiliation with Grange certainly helps them in that department.
The Integrity website will direct customers to an agent in their area to obtain a rate quote.
Integrity has a 24-hour claims reporting hotline which can be accessed toll-free at 1-800-445-3030.
They also accept claims online, but customers must first log into their account on the website. There is no claims form available without logging in, so this limits the ability of non-customers who are involved in an accident with an Integrity insured to file a claim.
There is a separate phone line for life insurance claims, which can be reached at 1-800-399-3797.
Claims can also be reported to an agent for any type of policy.
After the claim is reported, it will be assigned to an adjuster who will contact the insured as soon as possible in order to gather more details and begin the investigation of the claim. This includes inspecting the damage to the vehicle and verifying coverage on the policy.
Integrity offers a network of preferred repair shops that work directly with the claims department and guarantee their work for as long as the car is owned by the insured. Policyholders also have the option to select their own repair shop.
Integrity Insurance is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, however, they do have an A+ rating, and there are only two complaints on file in the past three years. Complaint volume does tend to be lower for smaller companies, but these numbers are low even for a regional insurer.
This low complaint volume matches what we found in a further search for customer complaints or reviews. There are no complaints against Integrity in any of the usual places; in fact, we weren’t able to turn up any complaints outside of the BBB.
This may be in part due to some confusion based on the somewhat common name of the company – there are several insurance companies and agencies with similar names. Still, it doesn’t appear that there is much to report in terms of issues with this company.

If you live in one of the areas that Integrity covers and you’re seeking the personal service of an agent, they are well worth considering.
This company offers comprehensive insurance programs with all of the basics of personal insurance, and has a solid reputation. Integrity aims to strike a balance between cost-effective insurance products and excellent service, and they aren’t likely to be the cheapest option available. For those who value low cost above all, Integrity might not make the grade. However, if you are willing to pay a little more for personal attention and good products, they’re a company to add to your rate comparison list.
