About Good2Go Auto Insurance
Omni Insurance was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1986, and operated under that name as a subsidiary of American Independent Companies, Inc. for 30 years. In 2016, American Independent re-branded all of its insurance companies under a single name, Good2Go Auto Insurance. All of the company links now redirect to the Good2Go page.
Good2Go Insurance sells basic auto insurance policies, advertising low down payments and cheap rates. They also specialize in insurance coverage for high-risk drivers and can cover drivers with problematic driving history and other issues. They focus on bare bones, legal minimum coverage designed to get drivers what they need to be on the road legally. This is common for non-standard insurance companies catering to high-risk drivers, as it makes the coverage more affordable.
Good2Go itself operates as an agency, referring customers to one of the American Independent companies for coverage. Where they do not write their own coverage, the company will refer out to another insurer with whom they have no direct affiliation.
Good2Go’s headquarters is located in Blue Bell, PA.
Good2Go Auto Insurance
Legal minimum policies are the main product offered by Good2Go, although they do offer comprehensive coverage and collision coverage as options. These are generally aimed at those drivers needing to carry the coverage to meet lender requirements.
The website offers a general overview of auto insurance, but not much in the way of detail regarding their policy. That is because there likely is not much detail to get into; they do not have a lot of extras or add-ons and mainly write policies that meet the state legal minimums.
There are some discounts available with Good2Go auto policies. Three driver discounts are listed: defensive driving course, good driver, and good student. Several policy discounts are also listed: homeownership, multi-vehicle, paid in full, and renewal discounts.
Good2Go does have an online quoting system, but it requires personal contact information and the system would not accept our sample data to return a quote.
It is likely that this company does have inexpensive rates since they mainly write legal minimum policies. High-risk insurance is always more expensive than that offered by standard companies, however, so this company’s rate will mainly be comparable to other non-standard insurance companies.
The toll-free claims line is only available during business hours, which are listed as Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern time. No after-hours or emergency line is listed.
There is an email address as well as a fax and regular mailing address also listed for claims.
Beyond the basic contact information, the website offers no information on the claims process for this company.
Ratings and Consumer Reviews
Omni Insurance Group still has an active Better Business Bureau (BBB) page, with an A+ rating and 34 complaints on file in the past three years. There are 11 customer reviews with a one-star rating overall.
The Good2Go BBB page has an A- rating. The 123 complaints filed against the business are listed as the reason for the lowered rating. 29 reviews have been left on this page, again with a one-star rating overall.
Since insurance sold through Good2Go may be underwritten by any of the underlying companies or even outsourced to another company, the customer experience likely varies based on which of the subsidiary companies write the policy.
The Bottom Line
If you are having trouble obtaining insurance, Good2Go may be able to help you – but bear in mind they are offering very basic coverage. Standard drivers or those looking for a more comprehensive policy will do better elsewhere.
