CrashAssist is a voluntary feature included within the Signal app that can detect a car crash. If one is detected, a push notification asks for verification. If you’re unable to respond, Signal will request emergency services at your location.
Drivers earn an initial 5% discount for safe driving when signing up for the Farmers Signal program and can earn up to 15% each time your policy is renewed.

How do I use the Farmers Signal app?
Farmers Signal app 2.0 needs hardware and sensors such as location, network, accelerometer, and gyroscope to function properly. The app will operate on Android 7.0 or newer or iOS 12.0 or newer.
Signal has access to two types of personal information: the details provided when you enrolled, and the data Signal actively gathers in the background to provide insights about your driving behavior.
Active data collection uses less than 2% of your battery while recording trips. Signal will stop collecting data when your phone’s battery power drops below 10%.
Android will display a notification that Signal is running. This indicates that it is working properly. Do not clear this message unless you intend to stop Signal from tracking your next trip.
After your first trip, you can navigate to your trip list at the bottom of the home screen. From there, update the trip type (driver, passenger, etc.) Over time, Signal can make predictions based on past behaviors.
The data is stored on your phone and transmitted only after a secure Wi-Fi connection is established. Keeping Wi-Fi enabled will reduce data usage and improve location accuracy and trip capture. The FTC recommends avoiding wireless hotspots to protect your personal information.
Of note, you could use other apps, such as rideshare or navigation apps, while Signal is tracking your trip. Remember that active phone use can negatively affect your focused driving score, and you will need specific rideshare coverage if you are a rideshare driver.
