Policies for vacation homes and rental properties are also available to cover the specific needs of these risks. Rental property policies are designed to protect the structure and provide personal liability coverage, with minimal personal property coverage.

Bunker Hill only writes umbrella policies in Massachusetts, but policies are available in Connecticut through their affiliate company, Plymouth Rock.
Bunker Hill does not have an option for online quoting which makes it difficult to obtain a price comparison. As a smaller insurance company, they are unlikely to compete with the rates of larger, national-level companies – however, they have the benefit of being able to offer an auto/home discount, which many smaller insurance companies do not.
Through partnership with Plymouth Rock, Bunker Hill can offer homeowner’s a 20% discount when they take out a Plymouth Rock auto insurance policy. This is likely to provide a competitive edge over similar insurance companies when it comes to rates.
The multiple discounts are also a good sign for lower rates, with many available that are easy to qualify for, such as the paid-in-full or eDocument discount.
Bunker Hill promises fast claims handling, including same-day response after a claim is filed in many cases. Claims are submitted via a 24-hour, 7-day a week toll-free call center, through a Bunker Hill agent, or submitted online.

For more complex claims, the company promises constant contact during the claims process, with a 24-hour customer service line available to take calls and provide updates on claims status. This is addition to the online claims status service, and contact through agents and adjusters.
The company also provides access to a list of restoration and repair services that will work directly with the adjuster to ensure quick repairs and streamline the process.
Bunker Hill is not Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited, but has an A+ rating, and shows only three complaints in the past three years; one of which was closed in the last 12 months. Only three complaints in three years is an incredibly good record for an insurance company of any size.
There are four reviews left on the BBB site for Bunker Hill. Three of which are negative, while one is neutral. Reviews concern increased rates, cancelling policies, and poor customer service. It is worth noting that Bunker Hill has responded to two of the four reviews.
Aside from these ratings and reviews, there is little in the way of feedback out there on Bunker Hill. This may be partially because they are a smaller insurance company, or it may signify a generally positive customer experience, since people are far more likely to write a review when they are displeased than when they are happy with their service.
